Go Gentle
Here’s a new song. It came as sort of a “response” song… to the beautiful poem by Dylan Thomas, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,” with the famous lines:
Do not go gentle into that good night;
Rage, rage, against the dying of the light.
Like many of my generation, I fell in love with Thomas’ poetry, but later, in my own spiritual search and journey, I felt to express this somewhat differently, along the lines of the Bhagavad Gita (roughly paraphrased)… “Never were we not”…. or, (in Western scriptures, “Death shall have no dominion”), i.e., the idea of on-going life, even after the death of our physical bodies.
I think the rest of the song speaks for itself. RIP Dylan Thomas, and thanks for the beautiful poem/songs you left us!
